Dr. Melanie de Jesus grew up in Markham, Ontario. She attended the University of Waterloo and Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Melanie served as the National Clinical Director of the Special Olympics Lions Club Opening Eyes Program. She has volunteered as an Assessor for Canadian Examiners in Optometry. She volunteered with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) to provide optometric care to the citizens of Honduras.
Melanie has a particular interest in binocular vision and myopia management (the slowing of near-sightedness) completing her specialty training through the Optometric Extension Program Foundation and the Brian Holden Vision institute. She is also working on expanding her dry eye clinic by utilizing the newest technology in the field of dry eye treatments.
Melanie lives in Stouffville with her husband and three sons.
